So that he has go through the heartbreak and hardship to get there makes him that much more interesting a man to me. Not many people once they end that chapter of their lives get the opportunity to go back and rekindle that passion.
I mean I like that Alex is able to go through what he did, come out of it a better person and reconnect with what he loves to do. The characters are and have been interesting, complex and from many different places in their lives. I’m impressed if this is based on the books then i’m going to have to start looking for them because this has seriously piqued my curiosity. The artwork is great because it shows that off in ways that you can see clearly. Without anything on the walls to show why show them at all right? There are so many clues in this book as to the life he was leading and how miserable he was before coming to that realisation. I like how page layouts are utilised through angles, perspective and even backgrounds or lack thereof. I’m sorry the story went in the direction it does, but it ends like it should and we understand why he’s on the Canterbury. Nope from everything I see here he’s a better man than I because i’d have lost it earlier. Personally had I been Alex i’d have left her a long time ago, and if your son doesn’t remember you are think highly of you then your wife is basically saying you aren’t worth it to her to remind your son how great you are. I mean i’m sorry but his wife throughout all this is a bitch. Though when your own son doesn’t know who you are and doesn’t care to spend time with you that’s gotta hurt like the dickens. I mean I get it when you are a pilot and spend all that time away from home your downtime is what’s special right. I guess when we learn of people’s backgrounds and their motivations for what they do we don’t always expect things to have such tragedy and sorrow involved. Okay wow this was a story I wasn’t expecting.
